In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Buckhead became a fashionable residential area for Atlanta's elite, with large estates and mansions built along tree-lined streets. The construction of the Peachtree Road in the early 20th century helped to further develop the area, as it connected Buckhead to downtown Atlanta.
In the mid-20th century, Buckhead experienced rapid growth and development, with the construction of high-rise buildings, shopping centers, and luxury hotels. The area became known for its upscale shopping, dining, and entertainment options, attracting visitors and residents from across the region.
